Antoni Gaudi's 161st birth anniversary are made up of six landmark works
of the Spanish architect.
Antoni Gaudi's designs had a distinctive style that were characterised by freedom of form, voluptuous colours and texture. His works are mainly concentrated in an around the city of Barcelona.
The still-uncompleted Sagrada FamÃlia is said to be his masterpiece and it is one of the most visited monuments in Spain. Much of Gaudi's career was spent in its construction.
Born on June 25, 1852, Antoni Gaudi came up with new techniques in the treatment of materials, such as trencadis, made of waste ceramic pieces.
Between 1984 and 2005, UNESCO declared seven of his works World Heritage Sites. Gaudi died on June 10, 1926. He was 73.
