HTC Butterfly S to be launched on June 19 with Desire 600 in tow

A phone that goes by the name of HTC Butterfly S will soon be launched in Taiwan as the company in question has already sent out invitations for a lunch event which will also be graced by the presence of the Desire 600. Although the latter HTC device made its debut back in May, it will still receive a formal unveiling on June 19, that’s next Wednesday.

The invite was sent to Engadget and we have learned that the event will be held in association with Chunghwa Telecom, a service provider in the aforementioned country. Although we know quite a lot about the Desire 600, the details regarding the HTC Butterfly S have managed to remain under wraps. Nevertheless, the folks over at ePrice seemed to have got their hands on a few specifications.

Reportedly, the star of the show will continue to employ a touchscreen spanning 5 inches just like its predecessor. It will come drenched in the shade of grey and will make the most of the latest UltraPixel camera of the OEM. A power pack better than that of the prequel and a microSD expansion slot for additional storage are just some of the many other attributes than can be expected from the second generation device. It is also likely to extend support to 4G LTE mobile networks.

And as far as the 600 variant is concerned, it comes across as a decent contender complete with a 1.2GHz quad core processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Its front panel is graced by a 4.5-inch touchscreen and a 1.6MP webcam, while the rear side houses an 8MP auto focus camera. The handset is said to binge on Android Jelly Bean garnished with Sense 5. Some of the other features of the phone include BoomSound, BlinkFeed, Beats Audio, dual SIM card slots, 8GB of onboard memory and a 1,860mAh battery for keeping it powered up for relatively long usage time.

We have no idea about the availability or price information of the Butterfly S, but it should be revealed soon after the device goes official on June 19.
