SanDisk launches new SSDs and faster microSD cards in India
SanDisk has announced three new storage units in
its current line-up. The additions include SSD and memory cards, as
well as a USB flash drive. The first, the SanDisk Extreme II SSD, uses
the company's 19nm flash memory and tiered system architecture to
improve data-transfer, application launching, as well as boot-up and
shut-down times for notebook computers and desktops.
Added to that, the Extreme II SSD gives speeds of up to 550MB/s sequential read as well as up to 510MB/s sequential write speeds. Currently, the new SSD product will be available in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB3 capacity variants coming with a price tag of Rs 14,750, Rs 26,100 and Rs 49,500 respectively. Added in is a 5-year warranty.
The second addition to the line-up is the Extreme microSDHC and microSDXC UHS-I memory cards. These memory cards give users UHS Speed Class 1(U1) as well as Class 10 video recording, which allows for full-HD video recording on smartphones and cameras. The company has said that the microSDXC card will offer the fastest speeds available, with up to 80MB/s read and up to 50MB/s write speeds. There are memory cards available in 16GB, 32 GB and 64GB capacity variants sporting price tags ranging from Rs 2,990 to Rs 9,750, depending on the capacity being purchased. Added in is a lifetime limited warranty for all the memory cards.
