Latest iPhone 5S leak reveals dual-LED flash

We've seen a couple of alleged leaked pictures of the iPhone 5S, and by and large the design of the phone is said to be similar to the current iPhone 5. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any changes. A new set of pictures of the back of the iPhone 5S show a redesigned LED flash arrangement.

The dual-LED flash setup, leaked on Weibo, is a departure from the rounded housing for the flash in previous iPhones. Looks like Apple will be talking up the camera’s low-light ability when it is unveiled. Aside from giving users a brighter image, the dual-LED flash setup could also have been implemented to let users use the torch light feature without any reservations of overusing the flash.

The new flash system is expected to accompany a new 13 megapixel sensor that will compete against the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z’s camera. Rumours say there is a new custom A7 chip under the hood along with the much-rumoured fingerprint-sensing home button. Apart from internal changes, the design of the phone is expected to be the same as the iPhone 5, if leaked images are to be believed. In any case, Apple is not in the habit of redesigning its iPhone for the S version. So we could very well see the same 4-inch display in a thinner casing.

The iPhone 5S is expected to arrive in stores in late Q3 or early Q4 and rumours suggest that a low-cost iPhone will also be coming alongside. It will run the final version of the new iOS 7.
