Asus Transformer Book launched in India for a whopping Rs 91,999
Asus took the covers off its Transformer Book
TX300 in India today. The Asus Transformer Book is a 13.3-inch hybrid
notebook with a detachable Full HD IPS display and a 178-degree viewing
angle. The Transformer Book is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and
separate storage has been provided for the notebook and tablet with a
hard drive and a SSD. This thing ships with Windows 8 and features
Asus’s SonicMaster audio with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower technology.
It will be available in India at an MRP of Rs 91,999 across select Asus authorised retail outlets starting second week of July 2013.
The Transformer Book is being called the world’s thinnest Windows 8 tablet by Asus. It features a sleek and all-metal design with spun-metal finish on the back. The final product is a result of a 32-step manufacturing process. The Transformer Book features a front 720p HD and a rear 5MP camera, so users can have face-to-face video chats with family and friends, or simply tap the screen to take a photo.
The TX300 features two types of internal storage device - as a tablet, the 128GB SSD means apps launch instantly, while Asus WebStorage ensures easy access to secure cloud storage when travelling. Additionally, users can connect the Asus Transformer Book to its keyboard dock to use it as a fully-functional notebook with up to a 500GB hard drive and Asus’ high-speed bridge technology that ensures 5Gbit/s data transfer speeds.
In notebook mode, the Asus Transformer Book features a back-lit keyboard with ambient light control that automatically adjusts its brightness to suit the surroundings.
It has up to five hours’ battery life in full notebook mode and up to eight hours in tablet mode. Asus claims that the Power Up! technology on the Transformer Book extends notebook battery life still further by disabling the dock’s hard drive and ports to leave the keyboard and touchpad active, giving up to eight hours of use.
