IE11 Developer Preview for Windows 7 devices up for download
If you have been itching to use to the shiny new
Internet Explorer 11 on your Windows 7 system, Microsoft has some good
news for you.
Microsoft has finally released the IE11 Developer Preview for Windows 7 users, and it is now available for download here. In a detailed post on the IEBlog, the company claims that the new browser offers improved performance, faster page load times, new standards support for next generation sites, and completely revised F12 developer tools.

They explain that the faster browsing capabilities are boosted by the fact that the browser is the first one to natively decode JPG images on the fly on the GPU, allowing pages to load faster and occupy less memory. As for developers, they can use the ‘professional-quality’ Web video and ‘hyper-fast’ 2D and 3D Web technologies on the browser to make the most of it.
Another one of the interesting bits is the support for WebGL, the standard that allows Web developers to create new kinds of 2D and 3D experiences by programming the system’s GPU. The new browser comes with interoperable WebGL that works on all devices. IE11 looks for suspicious WebGL content and it only runs on verified safe GPU drivers and hardware.
As for the video experiences on Internet Explorer 11, the post says that it enables high quality, power efficient HTML5 video minus plugins. The browser also supports the newest closed captioning standards – TTML and SDP, allowing users to make professional quality-like video content for the web. In addition to that, the browser supports the HTML Full Screen API.
Lastly, the browser packs in a completely redesigned and enhanced suite of in-browser F12 developer tools, allowing devs to diagnose and optimise their apps. These tools include UI responsiveness and memory profiling tools, live DOM Explorer and CSS inspection tools and JavaScript debugging.
