Moto X may offer customizable backplates with wood, fabric and ceramic options

While just yesterday we saw a Google Executive flaunting his Motorola X with what seems to be a plastic back plate, rumours have it that there would be a wide variety of options to customize the back plate of the device.

According to rumours, it’s not just the device colour that would be the choice of the customer but even the back plate of the device with sources claiming that the company would offer options including wood, fabric, and ceramic. The default option would however be plastic, like the one seen yesterday.

As per the sources, wooden back plates, besides plastic, will be available when the device launches, however after launch there would be metal, ceramic, and fabric back plates. The device is said to be launched on August 23 and with people seen using their devices we can safely assume that we are past the prototype stages.
